Friday---We went to a very nice park in the morning called Watten Estate Park. It's not only a children's playground but had outdoor exercise equipment for adults. When we arrived, there was a group of women working out and socializing (we are the same everywhere). The boys played on the see saw in the sand and on the playground equipment. Mornings are the best time to go out and play because it is so hot and humid from around 10 am until 4 pm.
After a too-short nap we went to the Singapore Zoo. It is in the north central part of the island away from the city. For a small island, Singapore has many cultural and family-friendly facilities. The zoo was one of the first natural habitat zoos developed. Before touring, we had to have our afternoon snack at Ben & Jerry's and of course get our picture taken with the signature cow.

Liam and Graeme had dinner at the zoo, and after they went to bed, the adults went out to celebrate the start of Sean's two weeks of vacation (if only they couldn't reach him by cell phone or e-mail). We ate on the patio of a very nice restaurant called Graze. Mar had a shrimp pasta and I had a risotto. We had a taste of Sean and Tiffany's dessert.
Saturday --We went to the American Club for morning swimming lessons and lunch. Liam was falling asleep on the way home. When he got out of the van he lay down in the driveway in his butt-in-the-air sleeping position. I thought he would go right to sleep but it is an hour later and he is still awake talking in his room. I think Graeme is sleeping through it all (and he was - Tiffany).
Liam didn't get up from his nap until after 2:30, and we decided to just go the playground again. I really didn't plan on saying much more but I have to tell you about Graeme and the pigeons. There were two pigeons walking through the playground and Graeme decided to chase them. He chased after them all around the park for at least ten minutes. When Liam saw how much fun Graeme was having, he decided to join in as long as the pigeons didn't get too close. He has an fear of them when they get close.
At one point Graeme was on top of them and they flew up to a light post to escape. At that point Graeme in a very commanding voice said, "No Flying!!!". I was laughing so hard everyone at the playground turned to watch. Liam then came over to the light post and tried to convince the pigeons to come back down.

Because this entry is so long, our Saturday night visit to the Fullerton Hotel's Chocolate Buffet and Merlion Park will be discussed in my next entry. Yum!
